According to the decree of the Chief Sanitary Doctor, new sanitary rules for the organization of school meals will be in force in school canteens in St. Petersburg from 1 September. Now it will be mandatory to control the temperature of served dishes, as well as to post school menus on the websites of educational institutions themselves.
Natalia Savinkina, head of the educational department of a comprehensive school, said that these measures will reduce the likelihood of food poisoning among schoolchildren, as well as improve overall safety in the school catering system. It will also give parents the opportunity to control the diet of their children.
