St. Petersburg has increased the minimum wage by 1.5 thousand rubles, according to an agreement between the city government, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the city, and the Leningrad Federation of Trade Unions.
The new level of the minimum wage is 25 thousand rubles, the Smolny press service reported.
Anatoly Turchak, president of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of St. Petersburg, noted that the city currently boasts one of the highest levels of minimum wages among Russian regions.
According to the current norms, the minimum wage in Russia in 2023 is set at 16,242 rubles. It is planned to increase it by 18.5%, reaching 19,242 rubles next year.
