At the beginning of the year, 14 thousand unemployed Petersburgers were registered.
On August 4, in the telecast "Petersburg against coronavirus," broadcast on the TV channel "St. Petersburg," the chairman of the Committee on Labor and Employment Dmitry Cherneyko said that unemployment rates during the coronavirus pandemic have more than tripled compared to January.
According to him, at the beginning of the year 14 thousand unemployed Petersburgers were registered. At the moment, 102 thousand people are registered at the labor exchange.
Cherneyko also noted that the volume of work at the Employment Center increased tenfold. At the peak of the pandemic, workers worked around the clock and received more than four thousand applications every day.
