A St. Petersburg company bought the landmark Teutonic castle in the city of Bagrationovsk (formerly Preisis-Eylau). The purchase cost 7.6 million rubles. This was reported on the website of the state information Bidding.

The winner of the auction was LLC "GreenArtDevelopment". Initially, for the ancient castle asked only 4.6 million rubles. The price increased during the bidding. The castle burned six years ago, it will need to restore.

LLC "GreenArtDevelopment" is engaged in management of property and real estate. The new owner of the castle must make repairs within five years.

The castle and the town of Preisische Eylau were founded in 1325 as a stronghold of the Teutonic Order. After the castle was rebuilt several times. During World War II it was almost unscathed and was used as a dwelling until the 1960s. In recent years it was abandoned. Included in the list of cultural heritage.
