In the morning rush hour St. Petersburg got into 7-point traffic jams

The first working day after the New Year holidays was marked for St. Petersburg by roads that were not cleared of snow and clogged roads and many kilometers of traffic jams. According to the Yandex scale, the workload has reached the “red” 7 points, while at normal times in winter this figure is 5-6.

From the map you can see that the most massive traffic jams are in the city center and on the ring road. Traditionally, the Moskovskoye Highway and the southeast of the Ring Road "stood up", there is no free passage along Sofiyskaya and Narodnaya streets. A particularly large traffic jam is at the junction of Stachki Avenue and Leninsky Avenue.

Also, the morning of January 10 was marked by a large number of accidents. In addition to the lack of snow removal, the situation was complicated by weather conditions and the previously announced yellow level of danger. Despite the statements of the Smolny, the citizens in social networks are massively complaining that there is too much snow on the pavement, as a result of which the number of lanes on the roadway decreased.

The snow collapse began in the Northern capital in late November, along with the arrival of heavy precipitation. The media has repeatedly pointed out that the city government, headed by Alexander Beglov, was unable to organize the work of public utilities. Traffic jams and accidents on the roads on the first day after the holidays are obviously a logical consequence of the unscrupulous approach of the Smolny to the problem of removing snow and ice from the streets.
