Now almost a third of St. Petersburg carsharing is occupied by Chinese cars
The most popular brands can be found: Geely, Jac, Exeed, Chery, Haval. For example, Citidrive increased the number of "Chinese" in its fleet to 35%, and Delimobile expanded its fleet by 60% due to such brands as Chery, Haval, Geely and Omoda.
According to experts' forecasts, Chinese cars may occupy more than half of the city's carsharing service fleets by the end of the year. This growth is due to the possibility of renewal of fleets at the expense of Russian and Chinese brands, but Russian factories at the moment practically do not produce cars suitable for such services. Currently, there is no other alternative.
Earlier in the northern capital was launched a project of "taxishering", thanks to which cab drivers can rent cars for a few hours and combine passenger transportation with other work. Before leaving, each driver must be examined by a doctor, and the car - by a mechanic.
And by the end of the year, the State Duma deputies are preparing to adopt amendments, thanks to which it will be possible to require taxi companies to buy only domestic cars. The point of such changes is to encourage the purchase of domestic vehicles.
