Smolny lists symptoms of COVID-19 that require hospitalization

Smolny listed COVID-19 symptoms with which patients can count on hospitalization.

The head of the department for the organization of outpatient medical care of the St. Petersburg Health Committee Larisa Solovyova noted that the decision on the need for hospitalization is made by the treating physician who assesses the patient's condition.

The reasons for hospitalization are body temperature above 38 degrees, the age of the patient, children under three years old and citizens over 65 years old, the presence of accompanying chronic diseases.

They can hospitalize those who do not have the ability to self-isolate from other family members in a small living space.

Solovyova emphasized that now in St. Petersburg there is a surge in incidence, but the situation is controlled. There are free beds in hospitals, so if there are symptoms, the patient is hospitalized.
