To work with biometric data, the subway will need to install special equipment. Passengers will be sufficient to register biometric data on the portal of state services and a smartphone, said the press service of the subway.
The pilot project will be implemented at one or three subway stations not earlier than the second quarter of 2024. It will be necessary to evaluate the speed of the equipment, to build a "client path", to provide for the reliability of the system, the impact of external factors, such as lighting.
Testing will go on until 2025, after which it will be possible to proceed to mass implementation of the methodology at all stations. The price of the issue will be calculated after summarizing the results of the pilot project.
In Moscow, payment by biometrics in the subway has been in effect since October 2021. It is also planned to launch the project in 2024 in five cities - Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Samara.
