St. Petersburg residents began to visit public toilets five times more often

Vodokanal of St. Petersburg told that since the beginning of the year the popularity of public toilets in the city has increased markedly.

It is noted that the latrines were visited by 4.5 million people, and this is five times more than during the same period last year.

Vodokanal (water services company) associated such attendance with the fact that the public toilets in St. Petersburg on January 1, 2022 became free. Maintenance costs for toilets assumed the city budget.

It is also noted that residents and visitors often choose public toilets in the city center and those near subway stations.
