Mining University ranks 12th in World University Ranking

St. Petersburg Mining University was ranked 12th in the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Ranking.

The oldest Russian technical university, St. Petersburg Mining University, has been in the top 20 of the British agency Quacquarelli Symonds for the fifth year in a row.

For example, this year it rose to a record for itself - 12th place in the Mining Engineering discipline.

When compiling the ranking, QS takes into account the opinion of the academic community and employers about the university, as well as the citation index and the Hirsch index, calculated on the basis of bibliometrics.

At the Mining University the jump from 18th to 12th place is associated with the increased activity of the university researchers who publish their works. The points awarded by Quacquarelli Symonds for the citation rate of their scientific articles have increased from 47 in 2020 to 67.
