In St. Petersburg, the Kronstadt District Court ruled in the case of two neighbors who are suing over a barking dog.
A resident of a house on Vsevolod Vishnevsky Street filed a lawsuit against her neighbor, the owner of a large mestizo dog that barks all the time. The woman demanded to evict the dog and pay her 100 thousand rubles as moral compensation.
According to the plaintiff, the dog appeared in the house in 2020. And allegedly on the basis of constant barking in St. Petersburg has developed a mental illness.
The owner of the dog assured that the dog barks on rare occasions when someone walks past the door or comes to visit.
The judge heard two witnesses on each side. However, the plaintiff's witnesses turned out to be interested parties: her daughter and an acquaintance who was often in the house. The defendant had two uninterested neighbors who testified that the dog was not a nuisance. In addition, the defendant presented evidence in court that the plaintiff had set her front door on fire.
The judge decided to dismiss the suit. However, a neighbor with an unstable psyche does not agree with this outcome, and intends to appeal.
