On June 26 at the final autumn-spring session of the St. Petersburg parliament deputies considered the introduction of new rules for walking potentially dangerous breeds of dogs. The proposal to prohibit walking dogs older than three months without a leash was put up for public discussion. And if the animal in the withers above 40 centimeters, the owner is obliged to put a muzzle on them.

In addition, the parliamentarians proposed to toughen the punishment for the owners themselves in case of attack by their animals. The position is simple - for everything a dog does, its owner is responsible. Now for every 500 cases of dog attacks there is only one case initiated. Deputies believe that it is necessary to increase the culture of keeping pets.

Earlier it was reported that from July 1 in St. Petersburg housing and utilities tariffs will increase only for gas and electricity.

Earlier it became known that the State Duma did not support the initiative of the LDPR to introduce the post of ombudsman for animals.
