Today in the northern capital of Russia the All-Russian Summer Tourist Season will be officially launched. Residents and guests of the city will take part in a festival of street musicians, an icebreaker festival, as well as a river carnival and other events.
Talking to TASS Sergey Korneev, the chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development, said that such celebration will take place in the city for the first time.
"The events will take place all over the city, in its streets and canals, in different districts and near different metro stations," the agency's interlocutor said.
It is specified that about twenty vessels will take part in the carnival. They will represent eleven regions of the Silver Necklace of Russia, and four more ships will come from the regions of the Northern Sea Route.
