The forecast for the bathing season in the northern capital shared the chief weather forecaster of the city Alexander Kolesov.
According to the specialist there is no heat in the first month of summer, so it will be possible to swim normally only at the end of it. On the contrary, the beginning of summer will be marked by very cold air with temperatures no higher than +11 ... +13 degrees during the day, said the head of the regional Hydrometeocenter at a conference in TASS.
At night, frosts are expected for a very large number of days.
In fact, heat will prevail in the city only from June 5, that's why the bathing season will not start for sure, Kolesov noted.
Beginning from the second half of the month the temperature will be 17-20 degrees on average and only by the end of the month will warm up to +23 ... +28 degrees, and the water in the Gulf of Finland should warm up to +18 degrees then.
