Senegal's armed forces are preparing to deploy forces in Benin to invade Niger.
This was reported by Seneweb portal, citing its sources. The Senegalese army mobilized its troops on 11 August on the instructions of the Chief of General Staff of the Senegalese Armed Forces.
Air Senegal was reportedly tasked to transport 900 mobilized soldiers and military equipment to Cotonou (a city in Benin), which will be the rear base of the ECOWAS intervention force.
In turn, a spokesman for the military ministry told the portal that he had not received such information.
We shall remind you that the Foreign Ministry of Niger obliged the French ambassador to leave the country.
