The law also includes temporary funding for United States government programs.
U.S. senators voted Thursday, Sept. 29, to pass a bill to continue funding the U.S. government through Dec. 16, 2022, and approved it by a majority vote.
The bill includes $12.4 billion that is earmarked by the U.S. as additional aid to Ukraine. The text says the money will go "to provide training, military equipment, weapons, logistical support, and direct financial support to the government of Ukraine."
Of these, three billion will be used for military assistance, namely, to support intelligence, security forces, armament, military equipment, military salaries, and logistics. Another $4.5 billion will be spent on economic support for the Ukrainian government.
This document must be approved by the two houses of Congress by midnight on September 30. Otherwise, the federal government will be forced to stop its work as of October 3.
