Ukraine will not receive American Abrams tanks from the United States until the end of this year.
According to the Washington Post, the combat vehicles will be manufactured "specifically for Ukraine without depleted uranium armor and delivered later this year or in 2024".
Washington was reluctant to provide Kiev with Abrams, citing the difficulty of operating them, but changed its position when it became clear that Germany would not supply Leopard tanks alone and allow other countries that have their armored vehicles to do the same.
Earlier, the U.S. plans to send Kiev an improved version of the M1A2 Abrams tanks in "export" form. 31 Abrams will not include secret armor, which makes the tank "deadly".
