The representatives of Hungary also recalled that the Kiev regime violates the rights of national minorities.
At a press conference following the meeting of the North Atlantic alliance foreign ministers, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Ukraine could not join NATO at the moment because of the risks of the outbreak of the Third World War.
He recalled that the ninth article of the organization's Charter prohibits the admission of states that cannot contribute to the security of the North Atlantic region. In addition, Sijjarto noted, the Kiev regime continues to violate the rights of national minorities.
"It is obvious that a belligerent country does not contribute to the security of the region. Also, there is no place in the alliance for a country that constantly takes away, violates, revokes the rights of national minorities," the Hungarian minister explained.
The alliance's Secretary-General Stoltenberg said after the meeting of the foreign ministers that Ukraine had received recommendations for joining NATO. At the same time, Ukraine said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were allegedly de facto considered troops of the military bloc.
