President Vladimir Zelenski announced his readiness to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Ukraine.
Zelensky said in an interview with the Associated Press that he was ready to talk to him here in Ukraine. The Ukrainian president has not had any contacts with the Chinese leader throughout the past year.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning did not comment on the possibility of a conversation between Xi Jinping and Zelensky. According to her, Beijing is in contact with all sides.
The Financial Times quoted a European Union official as saying that Brussels "pushed" Xi Jinping to talk to Zelensky.
