Russia and Georgia discuss resumption of air traffic

The parties emphasized the need to combat the pandemic. Negotiations took place within the framework of an informal dialogue mechanism.

Senator Grigory Karasin and Special Representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia for the settlement of relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze discussed the resumption of air traffic between the two countries in a video conference.

This is stated in the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The parties agreed that it is necessary to normalize the epidemiological situation in both countries.

During the talks, Karasin expressed hope that the new Georgian parliament will be determined to improve bilateral relations.

The parties also outlined mutual interest in resolving the problem with diplomatic real estate - both Georgian in Moscow and Russian in Tbilisi.

Representatives of the countries also discussed economic relations. Karasin and Abashidze also noted the importance of ending hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
