The Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the UN is obliged to take action to protect the country, as the airstrike is a gross violation of international law.
The Syrian Arab Foreign Ministry has sent a letter to the UN secretary general and the chairman of the UN Security Council and asked them for protection from the US actions after the US military carried out an air raid on Deir ez-Zor, SANA news agency reported.
The report said the US actions were "a gross violation of international legitimacy and the UN Charter" and the United States has not stopped violating Syrian sovereignty.
If nothing is done about it, tensions in the Middle East will continue to rise, which is what the terrorists want. The UN Security Council must intervene and act immediately.
