Erdogan calls for boycott of French goods

Turkish leader Tayyip Erdogan urged citizens of the country not to buy goods produced in France. The Turkish president also announced the persecution of Muslims by the French.

Relations between Turkey and France escalated after the brutal murder of a French teacher by an Islamist.

After that, Emmanuel Macron turned to fellow citizens and said that he is preparing a law on combating separatism. The French president also called for protecting republican values and building an "enlightened Islam."

In response, the Turkish president first advised his French counterpart to "treat the psyche." And now Erdogan called on the people to declare a boycott of products from France in order to "not show them honor."

He also demanded that the world community protect Muslims who are "persecuted for their faith" in France.
