Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would not mind if Crimea could be returned in a non-military way. He said this in an interview with the Financial Times.

"Everyone is confused about the situation and what will happen to Crimea. If someone can suggest how to de-occupy the peninsula in a non-military way, I will only be for it," Zelensky said.

The head of Ukraine noted that no time should be wasted on such proposals for anyone who intends to leave Crimea as part of the Russian Federation. Such a decision will not be made.

After the coup d'état in Ukraine, Crimea became part of Russia as a result of the referendum. There was an absolute majority in favor of accession - 96.77% in Crimea and 95.6% in Sevastopol. Most Western countries continue to consider Crimea to be Ukrainian territory occupied by Russia, as does Ukraine itself.

Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that the issue of Crimea's belonging is over.
