France recalls ambassador from Turkey after Erdogan’s words about Macron’s psyche

France recalled the ambassador from Ankara for consultations after Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan advised his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to «treat the psyche.»

We remind that in October Macron made a speech on the fight against separatism in the country. He noted that, together with the French Muslim Council, it was necessary to create an organization that would build an "enlightened Islam." Macron believes that this religion should be liberated "from foreign influence and strengthen control over the financing of mosques."

In turn, Erdogan said that Macron "lost control of the mind."

The French presidential administration declared the words of the Turkish leader unacceptable. They noted that going to the extremes and rudeness is not a way, and demanded that Erdogan change the "dangerous" political course. The recalled ambassador will meet with Macron to discuss this situation.

In addition, the Elysee Palace said that Erdogan did not express condolences about the brutal murder of a teacher near Paris.
