NATO will continue to arm Ukrainian troops to confront the Russian Armed Forces.
In an interview with Die Welt, North Atlantic Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg once again stated that NATO will not be a party to the Ukrainian conflict, so Alliance troops are not going to take part in hostilities.
"NATO is not and will not be a party to the war. We are not sending our troops or NATO aircraft to Ukraine," he said.
At the same time, Stoltenberg referred to the UN Charter in terms of provisions guaranteeing the right of countries to self-defense. According to the secretary-general, these provisions allow the alliance to send weapons and heavy military equipment to Ukraine.
Additionally, Stoltenberg expressed confidence that military supplies lead to peace in Ukraine.
