The West must recognize that it can no longer rule the world because of the growing influence of the BRICS. This was stated by economist and columnist Martin Wolf.
In an article for the Financial Times, he noted that the time of unipolarity for the United States and the economic dominance of the G7 is over. Wolf stressed that the G7 must protect its interests, but it will no longer be able to rule the world, even though its fate will depend on the decision of its members.
According to him, the intention of 19 countries to join the BRICS shows that the association is on its way to becoming a meaningful group. They are united by the desire not to depend on the U.S. and its allies, who have dominated the world for two centuries.
