EU head of diplomacy Josep Borrell and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken have confirmed that any upcoming talks with Russia on European security will be carried out in coordination and with the participation of the EU, the European Foreign Service said in a released statement.
"Secretary of State Blinken and head of EU diplomacy Borrell took note of the proposals presented by the Russian Federation last week, which concern the Russian vision of possible new security mechanisms in Europe .... Both politicians agreed that any discussions on European security will be conducted in coordination and with the participation of EU ", - said in the document following the negotiations between Borrell and Blinken.
For its part, the State Department issued a statement that both leaders noted the need to maintain the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine against "further military aggression by the Russian Federation," which Moscow denies.
