According to Sky News, a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain stated that it is highly probable that the use of shells with depleted uranium will have a small impact on human health and the environment. In addition, according to him, British troops have long been using this type of ammunition.

In this connection the military department of the United Kingdom accused the Russian Federation of deliberate misinformation, because these weapons can not be classified as nuclear, and therefore, according to London, they are not an escalation of the nuclear conflict.

Earlier it was noted that these munitions can still be regarded as a subspecies of nuclear weapons, despite their low radioactivity. However, they are highly toxic.

It is known that the Bundestag member from the Leftist Party, Sarah Wagenknecht, called London's plans to send armor-piercing shells with depleted uranium to Ukraine a war crime.
