Peskov: Russia can solve problem of water supply in Crimea without participation of Ukraine

The Russian government approved a plan to provide water to Crimea.

This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. According to him, the head of state, Vladimir Putin, will meet with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin on October 21, during which they will discuss the necessary measures for the implementation of the project.

Peskov assesses the situation with water supply in the Crimea as critical. Its decision should be considered in the long term that will allow the peninsula not to depend on Ukraine.

"Russia is a powerful country," Peskov said. That is why it is able to provide its territory with water. According to him, the Ukrainian authorities blocked the crane and refuse to negotiate. However, soon this crane may not be needed. Water supply from the Dnieper is not the only source that will help Crimea solve the problem. Measures for this are already being taken.
