On Thursday, Carolyn Levitt, who holds the post of press secretary in the presidential administration, announced the intention of the head of the United States, Donald Trump, to visit Canada. The trip of the American leader is linked to his participation in the Group of Seven (G7) summit, which will take place between June 15 and 17.

“President Trump intends to attend the Canadian G7 summit, which is scheduled for June 15-17,” Leavitt emphasized in her statement to reporters.

The White House spokeswoman also noted that details regarding the president's upcoming visit will be provided by the administration at a later date.

Earlier, the head of the White House Donald Trump said that the exclusion of Russian Federation from the G8 occurred for unclear reasons. He also noted that it would have been better if Moscow had been represented in the association.

The State Department said that Trump will not take part in the G20 summit in South Africa.
