At the moment, Japan is gathering more information, and the DPRK has not commented in any way.
On April 22, the Japanese Coast Guard reported that the DPRK tested its ballistic missile again. Its flight reportedly lasted more than 7 minutes, and according to NHK TV channel, the missile fell outside the border of Japan's economic zone. The Japanese government is still gathering details about the launch. According to unofficial information from the Japanese defense ministry, it was a short-range missile.
If the information is confirmed, it will be the fourth such launch for North Korea in 2024.
The previous missile was launched on April 2, at which time North Korean authorities confirmed the successful test of its new Hwasongpo-16B solid-propellant missile, which was equipped with a warhead with hypersonic planned flight technology. The missile hit its target precisely in the waters of the Sea of Japan, 1,000 kilometers from the launch site. The United States then said that the Koreans exaggerated the characteristics of their missile, and it flew no more than 600 kilometers.
And on April 20, the DPRK said it had tested its new Pyolji-1-2 anti-aircraft missile, as well as the warhead of the Hwasal-1 Ra-3 cruise missile.
