The Russian Foreign Ministry said that America, Britain, France, and Germany cannot claim the role of neutral mediators in the peace talks on Ukraine because they are parties to the confrontation with Russia.
The agency did not receive any official information about the proposal to establish a contact group on Ukraine, but added that it had learned about it from the press.
Ischinger's idea raises questions, as the mentioned countries are themselves parties to the conflict with Russia that continues in Ukraine.
Recall that the Kremlin appreciates the efforts of some countries to move the conflict into a peaceful direction, but so far this has not been possible.
