Hackers from North Korea attack Russian defense enterprises

In the spring of this year, companies of the Russian military-industrial complex underwent a large-scale cyber attack. According to the cybersecurity Group-IB, the «attack» was carried out by hackers from the DPRK.

Cybercriminals from the Kimsuky group attacked Russian defense and aerospace enterprises several times. Hackers sought to get secret information, but they failed to do this, Kommersant writes.

Attacks, for the most part, were poorly prepared. However, they could only be preparation before a more serious attack. In this case, North Korean hackers will repeat their actions in the future, experts say.

The Kimsuky group previously operated mainly in relation to South Korean enterprises, but then hackers from the DPRK began to attack targets in Turkey, Ukraine, Slovakia and Russia.
