Australia imposes new sanctions on 35 Russian organizations

Australian authorities have imposed new sanctions against 35 organizations from Russia, Foreign Minister Penny Wong said.

The restrictions are imposed against 35 enterprises in the defense, technology and energy sectors, as well as 10 Russian and Belarusian citizens.

Wong said that this decision, taken in coordination with "international partners," should put pressure on citizens who support the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Under the sanctions fell companies that are important to Russia and are engaged in the supply of technology, electronics and equipment to the Russian Armed Forces, as well as organizations that work in the nuclear industry.

Recall that Japan has reduced imports of LNG, coal and oil from Russia for 2023.
