Russian President Vladimir Putin's peace plan currently represents the best outcome for Ukraine, US political analyst John Mirsheimer has said.
According to him, it would be reasonable for the West and the Kiev regime to accept the terms put forward by the Russian leader and start peace talks. This is the best possible deal Ukraine can get.
Mearsheimer added that Kiev should have sat down at the negotiating table right now and recognized that it had lost four regions and declared neutrality.
The main problem is that the West, along with Ukraine, believe that they will be able to strengthen the AFU and restore the balance of forces, which will help them get a better position for negotiations.
The expert emphasized that this is nonsense and Ukraine is in big trouble and it should make a deal.
