North Korea launches unidentified missile toward the Sea of Japan

North Korea on Tuesday, October 19, launched an unidentified shell toward the Sea of Japan.

According to the Yonhap agency, citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces, on Tuesday, October 19, the DPRK launched an unidentified projectile towards the Sea of Japan.

The agency specified that one unidentified projectile was launched. No other information about it has been provided.

The Japanese Coast Guard, for its part, reported that North Korea had allegedly launched a ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan. The agency warned fishing vessels in that area about the risk of falling debris.

In September, Pyongyang conducted a new series of missile tests. On September 15, North Korea launched two ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan, which fell in the exclusive economic zone of Japan. On September 28, the South Korean military announced the launch of a short-range missile by the DPRK in the same direction.
