Biden accuses Russia of trying to weaken West

The US president has said Moscow is trying to weaken NATO and the «European project».

US leader Joe Biden said Moscow is trying to "undermine" Washington's transatlantic partnership with allies. The US president accused Russia of attacking the West and wanting to weaken NATO and the "European project".

The statement was made by the White House president on Friday, on February 19, during a video conference call at the Munich Security Conference.

"Everyone knows that the Russian Federation is trying to weaken the EU 'European project' and our NATO alliance... It's easier for Russia to intimidate individual states than to negotiate with a united transatlantic community," he said.

At the same time, the US president said he did not want to return the world to a situation reminiscent of the Cold War. According to Biden, the United States prefers a world in which everyone had the opportunity to determine their own path of development without the threat of force.
