The Ukrainian president refuses to negotiate because he is not sure that Putin is alive.
During the Ukrainian Breakfast at the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Vladimir Zelensky explained why he refused to negotiate with Russia. He stated his lack of confidence that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is alive and making decisions.
"I'm not sure that the Russian president, who sometimes appears on chromakey somewhere, I don't quite understand that he is," Zelensky said.
According to him, it is unclear with whom Ukraine should negotiate if it is not completely clear who the head of the Russian state is.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that there could be no talk about the negotiation process with Zelenskyy because the Ukrainian president had legally banned himself from doing so.
