Natalia Poklonskaya will not take over as Ambassador to Cape Verde

Former Crimean Prosecutor Natalya Poklonskaya was appointed Russian Ambassador to Cape Verde in October 2021. She will never take office.

"Natalia Poklonskaya's personal circumstances have changed, so her departure to Cape Verde for the position of ambassador will not take place," the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

Later, Natalia Poklonskaya herself commented on this information. "My personal circumstances have changed. I have always said that I want to be useful to our state and am ready to take any post where I am useful," Natalia Poklonskaya told TASS in an interview.

According to her, all the "benefits" of the diplomatic service she never took advantage of. "I want to answer all those who consider themselves investigators of corruption scandals: I did not enjoy the privileges of an ambassador without taking office. Diplomatic seniority, salary, position status, security and car are provided only after enter upon the office," said Natalia Poklonskaya.

Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Natalia Poklonskaya as Ambassador to Cape Verde in mid-October 2021. In this position previously worked Vladimir Sokolenko, who will now take this position - is unknown.
