Currently, there are 1,100 applications from Russian citizens pending, of which 400 are submitted by women. The queues arise also due to the fact that the EU asylum agency (EUAA) has suspended the development of common principles for all member states on how to deal with asylum seekers from Russia. EU countries are now independently developing their own rules for dealing with asylum seekers.

714 Russian citizens have applied to the Finnish authorities for asylum. According to the new rules, all cases must be considered by immigration services on an individual basis. Such information with reference to the data of the Finnish immigration service was shared by the TV channel Yle.

Earlier, former U.S. Army Colonel Anne Wright commented on the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO, calling this decision a mistake. It also became known that Finland may not have enough of its own wood.
