A mass exodus of Ukrainian refugees from Poland has begun. Forced migrants are either returning home or fleeing further to the West, to Germany.
The number of Ukrainian refugees in Poland is systematically decreasing, the INTERIA Biznes news and analysis website has reported. And as proof, it cites Eurostat data, according to which 15 million of the 17 million refugees who entered Poland since the beginning of the SWO in 2022 have already returned to Ukraine.
If the statistics are to be believed, the number of Ukrainians in Poland has now reached 958,000, with 1.1 million refugees living in the FRG. In total, there are 4.2 million Ukrainians in the EU.
Ukrainian refugees in Poland enjoy some relaxations and benefits. However, Pawel Shefernake, deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, authorized by the Government of the Polish Republic for refugees, said that soon Ukrainians working in the country will be obliged to pay for their own housing.
In addition, Prague has repeatedly hinted that the EU should share the burden of maintaining refugees with it.
