German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock announced on the eve of the expulsion of two Russian diplomats from the country after the sentencing of Vadim Sokolov (Krasikov), accused of the murder of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reacted to the expulsion of diplomats.
"The verdict in the Tiergarten Park murder case is a clear indication that bad things have happened here. It is absolutely right that the German foreign minister responded to this," reported Olaf Scholz.
The day before Berlin's highest court sentenced Russian citizen Vadim Sokolov (Krasikov) to life imprisonment for the murder of Georgian citizen of Chechen origin Zelimkhan Khangoshvili. In response, Germany expelled two Russian diplomats.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow was preparing a response to Berlin.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also said earlier that the new German government was ready for a dialogue with Russia. The work will be built in an all-European format.
