Russian diplomacy chief Sergey Lavrov has arrived in New York. From July 16 to 17, he will chair an open debate at the ministerial level of the UN Security Council.

On Tuesday, July 16, Lavrov will participate in an open debate on multilateral cooperation. The next day, the Russian Foreign Minister will chair a ministerial-level open debate on the situation in the Middle East, including a discussion of the Palestinian issue.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the program of Lavrov's visit is being formed, some countries are interested in holding bilateral meetings. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov noted that the United States did not ask for a meeting between Lavrov and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on the "margins" of the events in New York.
