In the last two days, Lufthansa, United Airlines, Qantas and other major airlines have been forced to cancel or seriously adjust flight routes. The last time something like this happened was only after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Mark Zee, head of consulting firm OPSGROUP, told Reuters. The territory of Iran is the shortest route from Europe to Asia. Because of the Iranian attack, air carriers had to use routes through Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

On the night of April 14, Iran launched a massive missile and drone strike on Israel. This was in response to an Israeli missile attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. According to ABC Channel, Iran used approximately 500 drones and 150 missiles in the attack. The results of the Iranian strike on Israel are highly controversial and not known for sure.
