This information was conveyed by political figure Ali Mahaman Lamin Zain, who was appointed by the rebels as the new Prime Minister. According to him, the new authorities are optimistic that negotiations with the ECOWAS group will begin in the coming days.

Tchiani showed for the first time in a long time a willingness to dialog and a desire to resolve the problem peacefully. He told the delegation from Nigeria that the coup was well-intentioned and the rebels struck to avert an imminent threat that would have affected both Nigeria and Niger.

Recall that the military council of the rebels in Niger will charge Bazoom with state treason.
