The US State Department announced that it is working with G7 countries to tighten sanctions against Russia.
According to RIA Novosti, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Derek Hogan reported that the United States and the G7 are working to tighten anti-Russian sanctions during a speech at the think tank.
"We're working very actively on how we can strengthen our sanctions package. We're doing it in close coordination with the G7 member countries," Hogan said.
He also noted that many legal obstacles prevent Washington and its allies from taking advantage of the frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank.
Earlier, the US media reported that US officials were concerned about the probable theft by Ukraine of funds allocated by Washington as aid.
