Clashes erupted in Tripoli

Gunfire and clashes erupted in parts of the Libyan capital on Monday. On Tuesday night, Libya's Interior Ministry reported that the situation had stabilized.

Clashes have erupted again in the Libyan capital.

According to the Al Wasat newspaper, clashes are taking place in a number of neighborhoods in Tripoli.

On Monday, May 12, in the evening in some areas of the Libyan capital there were sounds of gunfire and clashes. The casualties were six people.

Among the dead is Abdel Ghani al-Kikli, head of security at the Libyan Presidential Council. Local media noted that he was shot dead in the headquarters of the 444th brigade of the military district of Tripoli, which is part of Libya's PNU Defense Ministry.

On Tuesday night, Libya's Interior Ministry reported stabilization of the situation. Libyan authorities reported the end of the military operation in Tripoli.
