Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant cannot be used in conditions of an armed conflict, the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrel said.
In his Twitter account, Josep Borrel, head of European Union diplomacy, supported the idea of demilitarization of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
"I support the call for demilitarization of the territory, starting with the complete withdrawal of Russian troops, and I urge the IAEA to visit it," the official wrote.
The ZNPP, which is located in the town of Energodar, is under full control of the Russian armed forces. The Ukrainian military, using drones and artillery and MLRS, has launched several strikes in the direction of the plant, increasing the risks of a nuclear disaster in the region. So far, all of the attacks have reportedly been repelled by Russian air defense systems. At the same time, the nuclear waste storage area was hit, as well as infrastructure facilities.
