The US tabloid The New York Times reported that the USA did not intend to give up on NATO enlargement, while Russia kept "military threats" to itself, the inosmi.ru website has reported.

According to analysts of the US tabloid, Russia's demand not to accept Ukraine into the North Atlantic Alliance is impossible. After seven hours of talks, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov once again voiced Russia's position on Ukraine and NATO.

"It is imperative for us to make sure that Ukraine will never be a member of NATO."

The New York Times experts expressed confidence that in any case the talks in Geneva can be credited to Russia, since the main topic of the meeting turned out to be the issue of NATO enlargement. The American edition notes that from now on Washington will have to pay a lot of attention to this issue.
