Kim Yo-jeong, deputy head of the DPRK Workers' Party Central Committee, who is Kim Jong-un's sister, said that Pyongyang would destroy the authorities in Seoul if they provoked COVID-19 penetration into North Korea.

"If the enemy persists in such dangerous actions as provoking the penetration of the virus into our republic, we will respond not only by destroying the virus, but also by destroying the South Korean authorities," Kim Yo-jeong said. South Korea's Renhap News Agency quoted her as saying.

On Thursday, August 11, the DPRK leader declared victory over the coronavirus in the republic.

In May, Kim Jong-un said that North Korea "suddenly" had a state of emergency because of the coronavirus, ordered the Cabinet to put all its efforts into stopping the spread of COVID-19, and promised that the country would definitely cope with the virus.
